HIRING

How do I make a booking?
Fill and submit an enquire form on our hall hire page. Alternately telephone or email us on the contact details below.

After a rental agreement has been made on availability and charges we will send an invoice which you must pay before the booking date. In addition sign a rental agreement document outlining hire conditions.


How much does it cost to hire the hall?
Prices start from $20+ per hour depending on the type of hire regular or casual and other considerations such as length, day and time. Please refer to the hall hire page for the table of rates. Also you need to include time to set-up and exit time in your booking hours.

Can I view the hall before I hire?
Yes you can view the hall in person, please contact us to arrange a date and time. Otherwise you can also view our hall gallery page.

Can I hire the hall for a regular time each week, or for several days at a time?
Yes, we are keen to have regular bookings, which cost less than casual bookings. Also, bookings for more than 5 hours in a week have a lower cost for the additional hours.

When is the hall available for hire?
Check the hall hire page for the table of availability times. Then contact us through our enquiry form, phone number or email address and mention your intended booking times to arrange availability that best suits you.

How does the security alarm work?
You will be given a code with instructions to access and leave the hall.

When you access the hall you need to enter a code into the security alarm. Also when you leave you need to again enter a code into security alarm.

Please remember, if you try to access or leave the hall without entering the code the security alarm will be set off and a security call out fee will be deducted from your refundable bond.

Is there catering?
No we do not provide catering, however you are free to eat and drink on the property.

BOND

Is a key deposit required for hire?
Yes, the key deposit is fully refundable and must be received before the day of hire.

Where and when do I pick up keys?
Tenant is responsible to make arrangements for the collection and return of the property's keys.

When do I return the keys?
The keys are to be normally returned within 24hours end of hire unless another an agreed time had been made.

Booking conflict and re-book request
Subud Sydney runs community events that can coincide with our Regular tenant weekly schedule. Regular tenants may be asked to re-book their session to another day in the week or later. Re-booking request happen on rare occasion at most twice a year. We try not ask tenants to re-book their session as our aim is to provide quality of service.

ACCESSIABILITY

What types of parking are available at the hall?
Only public street parking is available behind and around the building and adjacent streets.

What types of public transport?
The hall is very close to public transport. There are bus stops along King St and the Newtown train station all within 5min walk to the hall.

USAGE

Am I required to clean the hall?
The property will be left in a clean condition. Property should be left as you found at the beginning of the Term of Rental for that day. Otherwise a cleaning expense will deducted from your refundable bond. A vacuum and cleaning manual will be provided.

Am I required to remove my rubbish?
All rubbish, bottles, cans, etc inside and outside the property that are due to the activities of the Tenant should be placed in the council bins provided. Any rubbish left will be charged as a cleaning expense deducted from your refundable bond.

Can we smoke at the premise?
Smoking is not permitted on the property.

Are we allowed to have alcohol at the premise?
Consumption or selling of alcohol is not permitted.

How much noise am I allowed to make?
All noise and activities will cease by Midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and 11pm on Sundays to Thursdays.

Can we decorate the hall?
The use of confetti, glitters, sprays, poppers, streamers, rice, etc is not permitted and no adhesive tapes of any kind are to be used on the floors, walls or ceiling without prior written consent.

Do you hire the venue for 18th or 21st birthdays?
No

What facilities are provided at the hall?
There are chairs and tables, plates and glasses, and an oven and stove. Please refer to our facilities page for full listing and details.
